off the Tutukaka Coast which is considered by Jacques Cousteau to be one of the world's top five dive locations. The northern-most island group in the Hauraki Gulf, the Poor Knights consist of Tawhiti-Rahi and Aorangi, two quite large islands. Landing is prohibited, but they are prime bird-watching, scuba diving and snorkelling areas. This is a world renowned marine reserve and one of the foremost diving locations. Waters are clear and unpolluted and 
undersea caves support large schools of varied species of fish. Boats leave daily from Tutukaka. The surrounding waters also support marlin and other big-game fish.
